Questions fréquentes sur le moulin de la Cortina à Collioure
Moulin de la Cortina (Cortina windmill) has overlooked Collioure since the 17th century. You can spot it from the harbour, from Boramar beach, and sometimes even from the road as you arrive from Port-Vendres. This sturdy silhouette of dry stone, with its wooden sails cutting across the blue Catalan sky, is one of the few mills on the Cote Vermeille still standing, and one of the village’s best-kept viewpoints.
I drew it from the path that climbs behind the castle, early in the morning, when the low light brings out the texture of the stones and the oleanders are in bloom. In the background, you can see the rooftops of the Moure district, the bell tower of Notre-Dame-des-Anges on the sea, and the Mediterranean stretching to the horizon.
This poster works especially well in an interior with warm tones: light wood, linen and terracotta. The ochres of the dry-stone mill and the clear blue of the Catalan sky sit naturally in a Mediterranean or Scandinavian decor. In a large format (B1, 27.8 x 39.4 in, or B0, 39.4 x 55.7 in), it can hold a wall on its own, with nothing else around it. In B2 (19.7 x 27.8 in), it fits beautifully into a gallery wall or hangs neatly above a desk.
It is also a thoughtful gift idea for someone who knows Collioure: a friend who spends their summers there, someone from the Pyrenees-Orientales, or anyone looking to bring home a souvenir that feels different from the reproductions sold in the harbour shops.

Foliove is my daily work. I create each illustration by hand, from my studio nestled in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Wacom, stylus, patience. No digital shortcuts, no images found anywhere other than in my souvenir photos, no effects applied with a click. Each line is consciously drawn, starting from a blank screen.
Printing is done nearby, at an Imprim'Vert certified printer in Elne. This is no accident: I can check the colors in person, adjust if necessary, and discuss directly with the team. They prioritize solvent-free inks and certified paper. It's a relationship, not just an order.
My subjects are born from my travels. A shade of the sky, a detail of a facade, a season frozen in an instant. I transpose them into a drawing once I return, often much later. It's my way of preserving these moments and offering them to those, like you, who look at them.
