The Royal Castle of Collioure from the water: the ochre stone ramparts plunging directly into the Mediterranean, the towers silhouetted against the blue sky, and in the corner, the bow of a moored Catalan boat. This is the natural view from the Quai de l'Amirauté or from a boat, the one that gives the fortress its full dimension. Former residence of the Kings of Majorca, redesigned by Vauban in the 17th century, classified as a Historic Monument, the castle is the most prominent architectural landmark of Collioure, the one people look for when they arrive.

I wanted this tight, almost architectural framing, to convey the mass and verticality of the fortress in the small format of the bookmark. The tassel matches the warm tones of the stone and the gold of the ramparts in the full sun.

This is the most historic Collioure bookmark, for a friend passionate about medieval history, a Catalonia enthusiast, or someone who visited the castle and wants to keep something that reflects it. To combine with the Collioure Bell Tower bookmark and the Collioure Moulin de la Cortina bookmark to offer the three emblematic monuments of the village in one go.

How I hand-draw each poster in the Pyrénées-Orientales

Foliove is my daily work. I create each illustration by hand, from my studio nestled in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Wacom, stylus, patience. No digital shortcuts, no images found anywhere other than in my souvenir photos, no effects applied with a click. Each line is consciously drawn, starting from a blank screen.

Printing is done nearby, at an Imprim'Vert certified printer in Elne. This is no coincidence: I can check the colors in person, adjust if necessary, and discuss directly with the team. They prioritize solvent-free inks and certified paper. It's a relationship, not just an order.

My subjects are born from my travels. A shade of the sky, a detail of a facade, a season frozen in an instant. I transpose them into drawings once I return, often long afterward. It's my way of preserving these moments and offering them to those, like you, who look at them.
