On this 11.8 x 16.5 in copy, the left edge bears a barely visible mark and one corner is very slightly bent, nothing more. Once framed, the white margin disappears beneath the frame and the mark disappears with it.

This imperfect Canigou poster joins our Imperfect Prints collection: a flaw far too discreet to justify throwing it away, but enough to warrant a reduced price. The illustration, paper and colours have lost none of their quality. Only this corner carries a small trace of its transit.

I draw the Canigou from my window almost every day and never tire of it. The mountain seems to change with every passing hour, sometimes lavender blue at dusk, sometimes capped with snow well into May. For Catalans, it is more than a mountain: fires are lit there on Saint John’s Eve, and people look towards it as a familiar landmark, always there on the horizon. Hand-drawn in my studio in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines and printed in France. The standard edition is normally limited to 200 copies.
