Discover Foliove: Hand-drawn travel posters
Foliove in a few words
Foliove is an illustration and textile manufacturing workshop based in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, twenty minutes south of Perpignan. Marie Troff hand-draws all the illustrations you find on this site, and her daughter Clémentine sews the textiles derived from them.
We do not do print-on-demand, no international subcontracting, no generative AI. Every poster, every tote bag, every postcard comes from a family workshop where two of us work.
Marie Troff, illustrator in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines
An artist based in the Pyrénées-Orientales
My name is Marie Troff. I am an illustrator and founder of Foliove. I set up my workshop in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines (66740), an Occitanie village nestled between the Albères mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. It is here, halfway between Perpignan, Collioure, and the Spanish border, that I have been drawing all the illustrations sold on Foliove.com for several years.
Over a hundred places drawn from this workshop
Since 2021, I have drawn over one hundred and fifty original illustrations: French cities, regions, monuments, seaside landscapes, mountain peaks, squares, ports, alleys. The Roussillon, the Côte Vermeille, the Albères, the Canigou, and the Côte d'Argent appear frequently (these are the landscapes I travel through daily) but I also draw Paris, Normandy, Brittany, Provence, and several European cities (Venice, Barcelona, Marrakech, London).

How I draw each poster
Wacom graphics tablet, by hand, line by line
I draw on a Wacom graphics tablet, freehand. Each illustration begins with a stylus sketch, then I work on volumes, shadows, and colors for several hours, sometimes several days, depending on the complexity of the location. I use no generative artificial intelligence, no photo bank transformed by filters, no Photoshop preset applied to an existing image. The line is mine, the style is mine, and every detail is a choice.
Approximately one poster per month
My creation rhythm is about one new illustration per month, sometimes two or three when a trip has particularly inspired me, sometimes none for six weeks when I am working on a custom order or a longer project. All new arrivals are visible on the New Arrivals page.
Clémentine, my daughter, who sews the textiles
Next to my illustration workshop, my daughter Clémentine Troff hand-sews the textile variations of my posters: organic cotton tote bags, fabric pouches, shoulder bags, XXL shopping bags. She has installed her sewing machines on the floor above, but our vital hugs bring us together several times a day.
Clémentine produces in small series, never in dead stock: each model is sewn after the order or in advance by only a few copies. The finishes are carefully done by hand, the seams are visible on the reverse side (a sign of artisanal sewing, as opposed to industrial products where they are hidden).
It is this cross-functionality of drawing + hand-sewn textiles by the same family that distinguishes Foliove from almost all online poster sites.
Printing and manufacturing in France
Imprim'Vert, in Perpignan
I print all my posters at an Imprim'Vert-certified printer in Elne, twenty minutes from my workshop. This geographical proximity allows me to validate the prints on site, to request a color correction if a shade does not suit me, and to have a paper redone if the first output is not up to standard.
170g/m² matte coated paper, printed in France
All our posters are printed on 170g/m² matte coated art paper, from sustainably managed forests (FSC label). The inks are solvent-free. The shipping tubes are made of recycled cardboard, manufactured in France. No plastic is used in our packaging.
Organic cotton and local fabrics for textiles
Clémentine works with Oeko Tex certified organic raw cotton for tote bags, and with cotton fabrics selected from French wholesalers for pouches and bags. The handles, zippers, and buttons are purchased in France. No synthetic materials of Asian origin.

The places I illustrate
Occitanie: my region
Being based in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines, I naturally draw a lot from Occitanie: Collioure, Argelès-sur-Mer, Banyuls, Port-Vendres, Canet-en-Roussillon, Carcassonne, Perpignan, Toulouse, Narbonne, Montpellier, Sète, the Canigou, les Bouillouses, Font-Romeu, Gruissan, Pézenas. This is my territory, I know it by heart, and it often appears in my catalog.
Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Nouvelle-Aquitaine
I also regularly draw the Côte d'Azur (Menton, Nice, Antibes, Èze, Juan-les-Pins) and the Atlantic coast (Arcachon Basin, Cap Ferret, Biarritz, the Basque Country), two regions where I travel often. I have many childhood memories there.
Brittany, Normandy, Île-de-France, Corsica
Further north and west, I illustrate Brittany (Saint-Malo, Quiberon), Normandy (Étretat, Deauville), Île-de-France mainly through Paris (Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, the Olympic basin in the Tuileries), and Corsica.
Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, United Kingdom, USA
Beyond France, I illustrate cities I have visited or that touch me: Cadaqués and Barcelona in Spain, Venice in Italy, Marrakech in Morocco, Olhão in Portugal, London and Oxford in the United Kingdom, Miami and New York in the United States.
