Catalan Country Posters
Posters of Catalan Country | Pyrénées-Orientales and Northern Catalonia
Catalan Country is not an administrative region. It is a territory that extends on both sides of the Pyrenees: the 66 on the French side, the Costa Brava on the Spanish side, and between them this mountain range that Catalans on both sides have viewed the same way for centuries. I live here, in Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines, in the Albères, twenty minutes from the border and with a view of Canigou on a clear day.
This collection brings together my illustrations of the Catalan Country in the broadest sense: the villages of the Côte Vermeille (Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls, Le Racou), the landscapes of the Pyrénées-Orientales (Canigou, Bouillouses, Laroque-des-Albères, Céret), the beaches and ports (Argelès, Paulilles, Canet), and some places in Southern Catalonia that are dear to my heart: Cadaqués, Cap de Creus, the murals of Sénanque. What I wanted to draw is an identitarian territory, not a tourist destination: the Catalan Country as it is experienced by those who live there, who return every summer, or who carry it within themselves.
Each poster is hand-drawn, printed in France on Premium 170 gsm semi-matte coated paper, by our Imprim'Vert partner in Elne. Limited edition of 200 copies worldwide.
